As we experience heightened fire risks in Essex, it's crucial to take precautionary measures to protect both the woodland and our cherished resting places.

We gratefully ask all visitors to be vigilant about potential fire hazards while visiting Oakfield Wood.

In extreme heat, dry conditions can significantly increase fire risks. Here are some safety tips to help maintain the serenity of Oakfield Wood:

1. NO open flames or smoking please. Please refrain from smoking, lighting candles, incense, or any other open flames on the premises.

2. Please refrain from leaving any glass around the grounds as glass can pose significant fire risks.

3. Report Fires or Hazards: If you notice any signs of fire risk, such as dry vegetation, glass, please notify our team immediately at 01255 880521.

4. Stay Hydrated! Bring sufficient water for yourself and any pets to prevent heat-related issues and avoid dehydration.

Our woodland burial grounds are protected by the Essex Wildlife Trust, ensuring that these resting places will forever remain untouched. Each Full or Ashes Interment includes the planting of a tree of your choice and a plaque of Remembrance.
